Seminary Visit!

All GodTeens are invited to an afternoon at
St. Gregory the Great Seminary
in Seward, Nebraska
Sunday, March 2nd
Please meet at St. John's parking lot at 1:15 to carpool/caravan there.  We would really appreciate some parent drivers!  Parents & siblings are welcome.  We will plan to tour the seminary together about 2:00, so please wait inside the front doors for the other GodTeens if you drive separately.
We'll take a look around, meet some of the seminarians, learn a little bit about life there, & pray in the Chapel before we stop for some dessert on the way home.
Please let your GodParents know if you will be attending, if your parent(s) can drive, & if you have any extra room in your vehicle.  Should be a great time!

Nebraska Walk for Life

Please plan to attend the
Nebraska Walk for Life
Saturday, January 19th

If you are able, there is a special pro-life Mass celebrated by Bishop Conley at St. Mary's at 9:00 a.m. beforehand.
Then we will meet on the west side of the State Capitol at 10:00 a.m. for prayer, a few quick speakers, some music, & balloon release before walking in prayerful protest to the Nebraska Student Union.  Remember this is both a statement simply by our being there as well as a chance to offer prayer for our country that we can embrace a culture of LIFE.  Dress warm & be respectful.
Afterwards there is a rally, bakesale, & finally a keynote speaker at 11:45 upstairs in the Union until around 1:00 p.m.  This year's speaker is Carol Tobias, current present of the National Right to Life committee.

You can drive on your own though parking is a little tricky, so plan some extra time.  There will also be a bus leaving from St. John's at 9:30 for any interested GodTeens or other parishioners (for the Walk only) to return around noon.  Families are encouraged to attend!

40 Days for Life

A few of the GodTeens who joined us for the Kickoff Rally

You are welcome & encouraged to take time to pray outside of Lincoln's abortion facility especially during this 40 Days for Life campaign.  The power of prayer should not be underestimated!  Your prayerful presence is welcome anytime.  Pray for an end to the tragedy of abortion, for a change of heart among the abortion providers & staff, & for each mother to be given the love & support they need to bring their baby to birth.

May God reward our fervent petitions!

Savor the summer

Hello, GodTeens  =]

We hope many of you were able to enjoy Totus Tuus at St. John's this week!  A big thank you to those who helped out with the grade school camp & VBS as well.  Your enthusiastic assistance was an excellent contribution!
If you missed out on the fun or just want to continue to savor the summer, call the Family Life Office to get in on one of the Canoe Trips coming up next week.  Should be a blast!  See the post below for more details.
Also, if you haven't had a chance yet to see the movie "For Greater Glory" you're in luck!  Due to the overwhelming response this past week, the Grand theater has decided to run this incredible true story of the fight for religious freedom in Mexico for another week.  This is a must see!  Remember that it is rated R for war-related violence, so bring along a parent.
!Viva Cristo Rey!
Long live Christ the King!
