Nebraska Walk for Life

Please plan to attend the
Nebraska Walk for Life
Saturday, January 19th

If you are able, there is a special pro-life Mass celebrated by Bishop Conley at St. Mary's at 9:00 a.m. beforehand.
Then we will meet on the west side of the State Capitol at 10:00 a.m. for prayer, a few quick speakers, some music, & balloon release before walking in prayerful protest to the Nebraska Student Union.  Remember this is both a statement simply by our being there as well as a chance to offer prayer for our country that we can embrace a culture of LIFE.  Dress warm & be respectful.
Afterwards there is a rally, bakesale, & finally a keynote speaker at 11:45 upstairs in the Union until around 1:00 p.m.  This year's speaker is Carol Tobias, current present of the National Right to Life committee.

You can drive on your own though parking is a little tricky, so plan some extra time.  There will also be a bus leaving from St. John's at 9:30 for any interested GodTeens or other parishioners (for the Walk only) to return around noon.  Families are encouraged to attend!

National March for Life

Update from Sarah Braunsroth at the Catholic Family Life Office:
"Yo people! We only have about 30 spots left on our 3rd and FINAL bus for the March for Life trip! Seats are going fast, so make sure you register right away if you want to go! Until Dec. 1st, you only have to pay a $150 deposit up front to hold your spot, after that, you must pay the full amount upon your registration. We do have scholarships available if financial assistance is needed. COME BE A PART OF THIS AWESOME TRIP!!!!!!"

This is an excellent opportunity to be a pro-life witness & get to enjoy the fun of travelling with MANY others from our diocese, too.  We hope you will consider it!  Talk to your GodParents or click the link on the sidebar for more information.

40 Days for Life

A few of the GodTeens who joined us for the Kickoff Rally

You are welcome & encouraged to take time to pray outside of Lincoln's abortion facility especially during this 40 Days for Life campaign.  The power of prayer should not be underestimated!  Your prayerful presence is welcome anytime.  Pray for an end to the tragedy of abortion, for a change of heart among the abortion providers & staff, & for each mother to be given the love & support they need to bring their baby to birth.

May God reward our fervent petitions!

Spiritual Adoption

"Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you."
~Jeremiah 1:5 Archbishop Fulton Sheen started the practice years ago of spiritually adopting preborn babies that are in danger of abortion. You can pray this prayer daily for nine months for your baby & the baby's parents as a simple way to be a part of the pro-life movement.
"Jesus, Mary, & Joseph, I love you very much. I beg you to spare the life of ___, the unborn baby that I have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion."
***
During your earthly life this child is known only to God, but it is hoped that you will meet the child whose life was spared by your prayers in the eternal happiness of Heaven. Thank you for your prayers!
