On May 1, 2011, the Senior GodTeens of St. John’s were honored at the 9 a.m. Mass with a special breakfast following hosted by the Junior GodTeens and sponsors. The entire GodTeen group then concluded the 2010-2011 year with a pizza party at Bethany Park the following Wednesday. Highlights for the GodTeen group for the spring semester included bowling at East Campus, a Lenten Penance Service and serving desserts at a Knights of Columbus Fish Fry.

The Freshman and Sophomore groups also hosted the annual Easter Egg Hunt on Holy Saturday and the Senior GodTeens participated in a final service project by collecting 199 pounds of food and a $20 donation (in the rain!) for the St. Francis Food Pantry.

For all Freshmen this fall, please watch the bulletin for more information regarding GodTeen sign-up. We also welcome at any time any upperclassman desiring to join the fun of GodTeens! ***Notes from GodTeen Sponsors:

Freshman GodTeens had a great spring semester discussing how the Ten Commandments apply to our everyday lives, the beauty of forgiveness, & the value of suffering. We enjoyed some hilarious game nights, had a blast helping at the Easter Egg Hunt, & look forward to more fun this summer! – Darren and Robyn Furasek

Sophomore GodTeens – We focused on vocations and making good decisions this year. We took a field trip to The Mother Regina Motherhouse where the Christ the King Sisters reside as well as ended our year with a BBQ including ribs! If anyone will be a Junior next year and would like to join us, please do! – Nic and Leah Bethune

Junior GodTeens – Throughout the spring, we continued to discuss Pope John Paul II’s writing of Theology of the Body as well as learned of his life and papacy. We also had the opportunity to assist serving a Saturday meal at Matt Talbot Kitchen and participated in the 40 Days for Life during Lent through prayer at Planned Parenthood. We also took time for fun in celebrating Mardi Gras with King’s Cake and enjoying green cupcakes for St. Patrick’s Day. While these first three years have flown by, we look forward to another memorable year filled with faith, fellowship and fun.– Jeremy and Courtney Miller & Russ and Carleen Barger

Senior GodTeens – Our four years have been fast and a blast! Thank you for all of the memories and fun. We are so proud of the Senior GodTeens, their accomplishments, adventures, faith formation, and futures to come. Our prayers and support will always be there for you. -James and Reyne' Alishouse
